This website is a workshop location for the Short-term Vacation Rental ad hoc committee of the Lower Russian River Municipal Advisory Committee (Lower River MAC). The official website where you can find meeting notifications, representative information, agendas, and meeting documentation is here: https://sonomacounty.ca.gov/River-Municipal-Advisory-Council/ official page)
Our committee was created to address Short-term Vacation Rental‘s impact on neighborhoods, housing, schools, businesses, and more. Our hope is to learn both the positive as well as the negative consequences of an industry that serves visitors. Tourism is an essential part of our local economy, therefore benefits us through dollars spent and taxes levied. We encourage you to help us gather the information that will guide us to help Sonoma County update the current Short-term Rental Ordinance so that we can enhance the benefits and mitigate the negative consequences for neighborhoods and commercial centers in our towns.
As we develop this website other committees will add pages on their specific topics and therefore opportunities for you to participate in these community forums on matters that concern you. Please attend our public meetings and reach out to your representative any time through their email to bring up topics you’d like to see your representatives address in the future.
